About Brian
Brian is a reformed litigator who has practiced public relations and marketing communications since 2002. He has served the mortgage, real estate and settlement services industry since 2003, providing strategic counsel for national underwriters, mortgage lenders, law firms, trade associations, technology developers, mortgage consultants, title agencies and vendor management companies of all sizes. He has presented on marketing and public relations topics at the TAVMA annual conference, ALTA Annual Convention, ALTA Business Strategies Conference, The National Settlement Services Summit, the Ohio Land Title Association Annual Convention and several local seminars. He has a regular marketing and PR column in the Virginia Land Title Association’s Examiner, and has had articles featuring clients or ghostwritten for clients published in every major mortgage and settlement services publication, including HousingWire, National Mortgage News, Mortgage Banking, Scotsman Guide, Secondary Marketing Executive, ALTA’s Title News and The Title Report.
Brian spent five years with October Research Corporation, overseeing the growth of its seminars division (including marketing and content for two of the first three National Settlement Services Summits) as Vice President, Seminars & Studies. He also spent a year as the Director, Account Services with agency NorthPointe Communications, forging and executing multiple branding strategies for a variety of settlement services firms. Brian is comfortable delivering counsel on PR, marketing (Web, trade conference and print) and advertising strategies; event planning; and social media. A proud Clevelander (in spite of its long standing futility in the world of professional sports), Brian received his JD at The University of Connecticut School of Law, and his BA at The Ohio State University.
